BHC Announced as Design Team for Northland Village
Redevelopment plans announced for the site of the former Northland Mall.

Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman announced redevelopment plans for the 60 acre site of the former Northland Mall on Friday, May 11, 2007. The redevelopment concept, known as Northland Village, was created by Bird Houk Collaborative in conjunction with developer The Stonehenge Company.
The former Northland Mall was demolished in 2004. Today, its original footprint remains largely undeveloped, other than the recently-constructed Ohio Department of Taxation, and is a redevelopment priority for the City of Columbus. The Northland Village Concept creates a community ‘core’ for the ethically and economically diverse neighborhoods surrounding it. A self-sustaining and vertically-integrated 'town square' will be at the center of the development, and will incorporate specialty retail, office, public events plazas, and green space. Offices and national retail will surround this core. Walkable pedestrian corridors will provide linkages between existing businesses and the proposed mixed-use center, as well as provide and open and visual linkage to the community from main roads and businesses.
The Stonehenge Company plans to break ground for the first phase of this $80 Million public-private venture in late 2007/early 2008.
