BHC Wins Judges' Choice at CanstructionBird Houk Collaborative raises money for Central Ohioans at annual AIA sponsored eventMarch 4, 2009 COLUMBUS, Ohio – Central Ohio architects unveiled their 10-foot by 10-foot sculptures built from thousands of cans and boxes of food at COSI on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, as part of Canstruction®, a North American design/build competition that supports area food banks in participating cities. Corn was chosen by Bird Houk as their concept, as it is one of Ohio’s main exports, as well as a symbol of Ohio's agricultural heritage and push towards a sustainable future. At nearly eight feet tall, the structure contains 2,100 cans of corn and other vegetables native to Ohio. Thanks to the contributions of Bird Houk's generous sponsors (below), close to $1000 was raised for Operation Feed.
