SOMC Oncology Center

Bird Houk Collaborative designed this state-of-the-art facility in conjunction with Moody Nolan Architects to house medical and radiation oncology services for the Southern Ohio Medical Center. This 37,100 sq. ft. facility includes a linear accelerator, patient treatment rooms and family counseling space. This facility was designed to utilize some of the architectural vernacular of Portsmouth and to relate to the context of the surrounding neighborhood. Special attention was paid to the care and comfort of patients and families in the design and provision of amenities. Although not located on the Main Campus, this building is part of the overall Master Site and Facilities Plan completed for SOMC by our team.
