Ballantrae Golf Community

Bird Houk Collaborative established the Master Plan and Community Design Standards for this Scottish themed golf course community in Dublin. Surrounding The Golf Club of Dublin, the 640-acre Ballantrae community includes 677 single family homes, 430 condominiums and cluster homes and 35.7 acres of park land.

More than 2 million cubic yards of dirt were used to transform the existing flat terrain into a rolling community reminiscent of Ireland and Scotland. The elements of stone, water, open space and vegetation are woven throughout streetscapes, park areas and the 18-hole golf course to create an “old world” quality. Two miles of low, curving, crumbling stone walls stretch throughout the community, and a graceful, 1000 ft. arched stone wall welcomes visitors at the entrance. A 20-acre park, 4-acre fishing lake, numerous bikeways, walking paths and wooded areas further unify and enhance the overall sense of community uniquely inherent to Ballantrae.
